The picoyo, pine nail or "Chilean amber", is a noble, ancient and endemic material of our country. This is found in the trunk and branch of the Araucana Monkey puzzle tree (Araucaria).

For its formation, the adult araucaria (over 500 years) must die naturally. Through the passage of time (more than 300 years) the wood decomposes leaving only the picoyo.

This "knot" with a high concentration of resin and on the verge of petrification, presents different shades and veins with qualities similar to amber. Currently it is used in crafts and jewelry given its characteristics that allow a better finish, a difference from other materials of organic origin.

It is collected in forests, lakes and rivers between the bio-bio and Araucanía regions.

Sacred for the Pehuenche people and of great cultural value. It is also known as “Mapuche gold” and “Chilean amber”.

A natural handmade wooden box with copper hand made is included.
